Liz comes from a background in Outdoor and Environmental Education and youth work in a mental health setting. She’s passionate about creating safe spaces for youth to talk about difficult issues, which makes her the perfect person to be organizing this year’s conference.
LIT will take place on March 5-7 in Whitehorse. As usual, we’re inviting each Yukon community to select two youth to come to Whitehorse for the conference, which will include leadership workshops, team-building activities, fun games, food, accommodation, and violence prevention training.
Liz has already been to Atlin with BYTE to get to know some of the rural youth in our area, and says she’s excited to meet youth from other communities.
“I’m looking forward to meeting everybody – all the youth and the chaperones I’ve heard so much about– and finding out what’s important to them in terms of leadership and what they want to learn,” says Liz. “I’m also looking forward to playing games and having fun with everyone!”
Welcome to the team, Liz!
