BYTE ConneX Speaker Series

Next BYTE ConneX event:

The Ghomeshi Trial, Tuesday May 10th, 2016 5:30-7:30pm Baked Cafe, Whitehorse.

CaptureThe Ghomeshi trial shone the spotlight on the issue of sexualized violence, and sparked national outrage on the legal systems treatment of survivors. Join a panel of young speakers to share their reflections on the trial, the media’s coverage, the issue of consent, and how communities can help to prevent sexualized assault from happening. Everyone is welcome to listen, share and help create the dream of better response system for sexualized violence.

BYTE ConneX is a speaker series that allows Whitehorse youth to connect with inspiring youth leaders from across the territory. So far, we’ve hosted talks by LGBT advocate Liam Finnegan, Paralympic champion Stephanie Dixon, international volunteer workers Lenna Charlie and Akasha Sage, and Canada World Youth workers Simon Schachner and Zaida Adriano. For our last event, four young entrepreneurs spoke about the challenges, successes, and experiences running a business.

You can read more about our last event here.

Our next event will take place at 5:30pm at Baked Cafe on May 10, 2016.
