Abbey (she/they) is of settler descent and was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, on the Traditional Territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. Abbey has worked with a variety of youth-serving organizations and mental health initiatives in the Yukon and across Canada. She previously worked at BYTE from 2019 to 2022 as a Community Outreach Coordinator and is excited to return as the Wellness Director for the Integrated Youth Services initiative. She believes that young people are the experts in their own lives and that meaningful mental health support begins by listening to, trusting, and empowering youth. Outside of work, Abbey can usually be found playing cozy video games, taking dance classes, singing along to her musical theatre playlist, crafting, or planning a themed party.
