The Future Routes Festival is just days away, and there’s no doubt the town is abuzz with excitement.
We can’t wait to get together with all you lovely Yukoners to celebrate two anniversaries: ours (we’re 15 this year), and the Yukon College’s (50!). Event organizers have been working hard to make sure this weekend is one to remember. Here are some of the latest details just confirmed:
- The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra (TMO) will be doing a free youth workshop, Saturday, 3 pm in the Yukon College Student Lounge. During this interactive workshop TMO band members will be talking about their musical experiences and giving youth a chance to try out instruments. No experience or registration necessary.
- Make sure you drop by our green marketplace in the Yukon College Pit, starting at 10 am Friday. At noon there’s going to be a series of sustainability talks featuring organizations like Air North, the City of Whitehorse, Raven Recycling, CPAWS and us, BYTE.
- Get home safely! The City of Whitehorse is proving free bus transit from downtown to the festival and back for the festival.
- We’re still looking for volunteers. one shift= a weekend pass. Email our festival producer, Dan, at mcprhyme@gmail.com with your availability, interests, and contact information.
- Tickets are available at yukontickets.com, Arts Underground, The Yukon Arts Centre, Triple J’s, BYTE or at the Gate.
