ChrisAfter four amazing years working with BYTE, in the next few months I’m going to be moving on. It’s been an amazing journey, but I’m turning 35 in May and I want to ensure that the organization remains fully connected to the youth we serve. For this reason, it feels like the right time to step away from this role – and the youth sector – and to leave it to someone younger and fresher.

We are starting the hiring process for a new Executive Director today. If you have a passion for working with youth and think you have the right experience for the role, apply today. You can find the job description and all the relevant information on our jobs page.

So what’s next for me, you might ask? Well, I’m pretty much moving from one dream job to another. From mid-March I’ll be starting (part-time at first) as Executive Director of CPAWS Yukon Chapter. This means I’ll be back in the environmental sector; an area where I worked previously and where I hope to spend the rest of my career. I’ll be jumping right into an organization that is doing some amazing conservation work, not least of which is acting as a leader in protecting the Peel Watershed.

Thanks to all of the amazing staff I’ve worked with, colleagues, board members (past & present), funders and general cohorts. It’s been a blast – I’m excited to keep working hard to hand over a healthy organization to my successor and to get started at CPAWS!
